Multiple shops & states
Run more than one shop — and file GST correctly when they're in different states.
Ezvento is built for one shop or many. If you grow to a second branch — even in another state — it keeps your stock, staff, and GST straight.
Your shops (menu: Business → "Stores")
Here you create and manage each shop (branch). For each shop you set:
- Its name and type (a clothing branch and a grocery branch can behave differently).
- Its GST registration (which matters when branches are in different states — see below).
- Its storage locations inside the shop — like a shop floor, a godown/back room, a cold storage, or a counter. Stock is tracked per location.
You can't delete a shop's last storage location — every shop needs at least one place to hold stock.
Switching between shops
You don't switch shops from the Stores page — you switch as you work:
- Owners and multi-shop managers get a shop switcher in the side menu.
- Cashiers pick their shop (and counter) when they sign in to bill.
Moving stock between shops
Send stock from one branch to another with a simple send → receive flow (in the Warehouse area). One shop sends it out, the other confirms receiving it — so nothing goes missing in between.
Different states = different GST numbers (important)
This is the big one. GST registration is per state. If you have a shop in Tamil Nadu and another in Karnataka, you legally hold two GST numbers and file two separate sets of returns. Ezvento handles this properly — you don't fudge it into one.
To set it up:
- Go to Settings → GST (owner only) and add a registration for each state you sell from — each with its own GSTIN.
- On the Stores page, assign each shop to the registration for its state.
Then, when you export a GST return:
- If you have more than one registration, Ezvento asks which GST number you're filing for.
- It prepares a separate, correct return per registration — with only that registration's sales, its own GST number on top, and the right tax split. The very same out-of-state customer is treated as inter-state for one registration and intra-state for the other, automatically.
If a shop's address is in a different state from the registration it's filing under, Ezvento warns you when you export — a nudge that the shop may be pointed at the wrong GST number.
